Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church is a Christ-centered congregation dedicated to making disciples and serving the community. Through a growing partnership with Shining Light Homes, Saint Andrew’s supports and uplifts single mothers and their children by combining faith, compassion, and practical resources. Together, SLH and Saint Andrew’s work to provide emergency financial assistance, clothing, home furnishings, and life skills and family education, while nurturing the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of families. This partnership also expands opportunities for discipleship, connection, and long-term support so mothers and children can thrive.
The Strengthening Mothers Program, supported by Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church (SAUMC), provides monthly scholarships and sponsorships to Shining Light Homes clients. These sponsorships are earned through participation in church worship and Bible study and are paid directly to the mothers. Funds may be used to meet essential needs such as rent, groceries, and other household expenses. Through this program, SAUMC offers both practical financial support and opportunities for spiritual growth, helping mothers build stability and hope for their families.
