Carpenter bees can cause as much damage to homes and structures as termites. Shining Light Homes has partnered with a local craftsman to produce the finest Carpenter bee trap on the market.

The roof is made of cedar. The main body is made of a block of 4x4 Douglas Fir. 1/2" holes are drilled at a 45-degree angle to mimic the female nest. Then there is a 1-1/4" shaft that connects to a removable plastic bottle.

The male bees, the ones you see buzzing around your deck, or fence, or shed etc. go into the hole. When they don't see the queen, they make their exit. They see the light of the bottle and head in that direction and are trapped in the bottle. You can remove them by unscrewing the plastic bottle. We are sure these will get rid of the annoying carpenter bees this spring.
